Hello friends! Here I am, in a state of great anxiety, practicing my first-ever full-length talk. I was invited to speak at the Kink Summit in London, organised by Seed Talks, and since I'd never done a Powerpoint presentation before, I did a lot of rehearsals. Here I am, in an early-ish rehearsal, 11 days before the actual event, which was on 23rd November 2024. My talk is all about growing up as a Jehovah's Witness and realising I was kinky. I wanted to talk about how representations of kinky people in mainstream drama, as well as in news media, had an impact on my sense of guilt, and about what eventually helped me feel as though my sexuality was ok after all. I hope you'll find it interesting! I'm assuming I eventually got better at it than this. But who knows? Maybe I went absolutely to pieces with a live audience.
